Have a question for me? Just ask. I have no filter and I am pathologically honest.
Here are my answers to the Q&A I give visiting authors.
What does your writing day look like? I write Monday-Friday, 2000 words a day. Most days I can get this done when my daughter is at school but I have been known to still be writing at 2am.
What is the most you have written in a day? 7000 words. It was the end of a book.
Do you listen to music when you write? Every books has theme songs that I listen to on repeat, but not when I am actually writing. I take a break every few hundred words to listen to music before I crack on.
Who gets to read your work before it is published? I have three beta readers: Gloria Maxwell, Fiona Wilson, and Laura Borthwick. I also always send sex scenes to my husband and my friend Lynette Brown, as soon as I write them.
If your child told you they wanted to be a writer, what advice would you give them? Pick a day job that leaves you with enough time and energy to write.
What would is your favourite meal? Calories don’t count. Kung Po tofu and boiled rice, followed by a peanut butter brownie sundae.
What is the most romantic thing someone has done for you? When my husband and I were still dating, he paid my student loans. His explanation was that he knew he was going to marry me at some point and then it would be his debt anyway. It was swoon worthy and pragmatic, a rare combination.
What would a perfect day for you look like? Most Saturdays are pretty great. I go to Starbucks and then a spin class, followed by lunch with my family. If I could squeeze in an afternoon trip to Dubai, it would be perfection.
What accent do you find the sexiest? Scottish accents are the sexiest by far. True story.
Who is your celebrity crush? It changes all the time. Turns out I am very fickle.
Name the sexiest redheaded man. The hero in my first book: Liam McPherson 🙂
